A new step towards smarter healthcare logistics: the Air4HEALTH project has launched an open tender for the procurement of a medical drone in Western Greece.
The drone will support pilot medical transport operations, demonstrating how unmanned aerial technology can improve the delivery of medicines, blood samples and other essential medical supplies, particularly in remote or hard-to-reach areas. It will support Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations, enabling safe flights beyond the pilot’s direct view, including over the sea and in emergency situations. With an 8 kg medical payload, 50-minute flight endurance and the ability to operate in challenging weather conditions, it is designed for rapid and reliable medical logistics.
By testing these solutions in real-life conditions, Air4HEALTH aims to enhance the efficiency, accessibility and resilience of healthcare services while promoting innovative technologies for the future of healthcare logistics across Europe.
