Official start of ANEMOS project’s operational phase. The Technical Working Group met on 10 March 2026 at the Corigliano Rossano Port Authority.
The session, led by the Municipality of Corigliano Rossano, gathered key regional and local stakeholders in Calabria — including the Calabria Region, Coast Guard, Port Authority, Civil Protection, port operators, and research institutions.
The meeting outlined the first operational steps: technical site inspections, assessment of existing infrastructure, and identification of strategic points for installing new monitoring technologies such as weather stations, wave buoys, current meters, tide gauges, and video surveillance. Participants stressed the integration of current data sources with new sensors and the need to define responsibilities for long term maintenance. From a safety perspective, priority was given to ensuring full alignment with the Civil Protection Plan, alongside the development of ANEMOS early warning solutions to strengthen risk prevention and emergency response mechanisms. A pilot area between Missionante and Malfrancato was selected for testing ANEMOS solutions.
This project, co funded by EU, aims to strengthen the resilience of Adriatic and Ionian ports to climate related risks through innovative technologies and coordinated strategies.
