On-site visit with working sessions about climate risk preparadness and port resilience: ANEMOS partners gathered in Corigliano-Rossano on 19 June for their second technical meeting.
The event gathered all partners, as well as Joint Secretariat Coordinator Gianfranco Gadaleta and Project Officer Anca Simion.
During the first part of the event, partner delegations visited the city and took part in the fish auction at Schiavonea port.
After that, the working sessions continued at the Fish Market. The meeting focused on progress in the collection and analysis of climate hazard data concerning the pilot ports, with the aim of characterising storm-related risks, assessing port resilience and quantifying impacts on the blue economy. These studies provide a solid scientific basis for the development of ANEMOS solutions, including an Early Warning Solution, a drone surveillance protocol and related techniques, a Climate-Smart Strategy and a Joint Action Plan.
The project objectives were also reaffirmed, strengthening the capacity to forecast and manage extreme weather events affecting the territories and port areas involved, with the ambition of building a concrete, innovative, sustainable and replicable cross-border model of cooperation under the Greece–Italy Programme.
