The Managing Authority of Interreg Greece-Italy Programme is launching the 5th Call for Operations of Strategic Importance SO4.6 – Tourism, with a budget of €7.000.000 million. The EU contribution is 75% and the project co-financing is 25% of the total eligible costs. Geographical coverage of the call extends to 6 regions from 2 EU countries, Greece and Italy.
The present Call concerns the Operation of Strategic Importance S.O. 4.6 “Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation” as foreseen in the approved Programme.
In the context of the present Call, the potential Lead Beneficiary with the relevant partnership scheme of the proposed project, as approved to participate, are EXCLUSIVELY invited to submit a detailed Project Proposal (Application Form with all mandatory documents) via MIS.
The eligible beneficiaries are the following:
- REGION OF EPIRUS,
- MINISTRY OF TOURISM,
- BASILICATA REGION,
- CALABRIAN REGION,
- REGION OF IONIAN ISLANDS,
- PUGLIA REGION,
- REGION OF WESTERN GREECE,
- DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF EPIRUS SA – ORGANIZATION FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT,
The present Call intends to fund a high-quality cross-border project on tourism sector linked to economic, social and environmental aspects, in which relevant institutions cooperate to make border regions more resilient to common challenges, find shared solutions and exploit the untapped growth potential in border areas on tourism with a focus to sustainable tourism taking into account advanced technologies, promoting sustainable and thematic cultural routes among others by further distributing tourism flows, while enhancing the cooperation process for the purposes of the overall harmonious development of the Union.
The actions taken must seek to maximize territorial impact across the Programme area through synergies, capitalization, aligning with EUSAIR Macro Regional Strategy and transitioning to a more social and inclusive Programme area.
The project objectives and the proposed activities shall be clear and in-line with the Programme priorities, contribute to the achievement of Programme indicators and both shall have an impact on Greece-Italy area.
