Time to shine for ARGONAUT. On 23 September 2026, at the Palazzo dell’Informazione in Rome, the project’s digital platform Adriatic Maritime Route Planner (AMRP) received a Special Mention from the Jury at the 5th edition of the Blue Ambassador Award.
The AMRP allows sailors and maritime operators to plan cross-border sea routes in real time, taking into account safety and environmental sustainability. By supporting informed route planning, the platform contributes to greener and more responsible tourism across the Adriatic and Ionian seas.
The Blue Ambassador Award is an Italian national award for innovation and sustainability in the Blue Economy, promoted by Fondazione ITSSIXELLENCE in partnership with MAR ETS and ALIS, the Italian association for sustainable intermodal logistics.
This year’s edition, which recorded the highest participation to date, featured a jury of sector experts alongside a Young Jury of students from Italian ITS Academies (higher technical institutes). Together, they assessed 30 finalist projects that stood out for their contribution to the protection of the sea and the sustainable development of maritime and coastal activities.
The ARGONAUT project responds to common challenges faced by Apulia and Greece in promoting sustainable practices in the nautical tourism sector. It combines green and digital technologies with the exchange of best practices and stakeholder training, supporting a more sustainable and connected approach to nautical tourism across the two territories.
