In Zakynthos, AD.CO.A.ST. partners gathered for a two-day event focused on developing joint strategies and nature-based solutions to coastal erosion.
The Municipality of Zakynthos, lead beneficiary of the project, hosted the meeting on 8-9 June, marking an important milestone for strengthening cooperation among the partners and advancing the implementation of the project.
During the first day, an internal coordination meeting of the lead beneficiary project team was held, focusing on the overall implementation status of the project and the progress of procurement procedures. In addition, coordination discussions took place with municipal departments and local stakeholders, aiming to enhance local involvement and strengthen cooperation with the local community.
The second day was dedicated to the official partners meeting, during which the Work Package progress were presented and the next implementation steps were jointly defined. Discussions focused on project management issues, communication and dissemination activities, pilot actions for coastal monitoring, as well as the development of joint protocols and community awareness activities.
As part of the meeting, the participants also carried out a field visit to a coastal area of Zakynthos affected by coastal erosion, providing the opportunity to better understand local challenges and discuss the potential application of project activities on site.
