On October 14th, 2025, Palazzo Guerrieri in Brindisi, Italy hosted the Kick-off Meeting of EASY WASTE, a project co-funded by the Interreg Greece–Italy Programme to promote sustainable waste management in ports and a stronger Blue Circular Economy across the Adriatic.
Led by the National Energy Technology Cluster (DiTNE), EASY WASTE aims to develop innovative tools — including AI-based systems for waste recognition and mobile apps for data collection — to improve efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Italian and Greek partners took part in the meeting, sharing strategies to protect the marine ecosystem and build a replicable model for sustainable port management.
With a budget of over €1.5 million and a two-year duration (2025–2027), EASY WASTE marks a concrete step toward a cleaner and smarter Adriatic Sea.
