The four pilot areas of the TAGsTwo project in Greece has been chosen: the University of Patras’ organic olive grove, the Diakopto area (Aigio), and the areas of Stamna and Katochi (Messolonghi).
Following a targeted evaluation process, these locations were chosen for representative conditions for key Mediterranean crops, particularly olives and citrus. They will serve as pilot fields for testing innovative precision agriculture technologies.
Within the project framework, advanced tools such as sensors, digital platforms, and data-driven systems will be deployed to support monitoring of soil, water use, yield performance, and crop health.
The pilot areas are expected to generate valuable data contributing to the development of a Decision Support System (DSS), aiming to enhance sustainable agricultural practices and strengthen the adoption of agri-tech solutions in the primary sector.
At the beginning of may, the farm Quattrò in Guardavalle (Catanzaro province, Calabria) has been selected on the italian side. It includes over 400 olive trees and around 30 citrus trees.
