Eighteen HealthyMinds webinars supporting upper secondary school teachers in Lecce have been successfully completed, marking a key step in strengthening early detection of psychological distress. The training activities were coordinated by Associazione MEDEUR – Mediterraneo Centro Studi e Formazione, a specialized organisation appointed by the HealthyMinds partner, the Municipality of Nardò.
The main objective of the webinars was to raise awareness and strengthen teachers’ competences in the early recognition of psychological distress, while fostering effective coordination with local mental health services.
The training programme focused on several key areas, including the positive management of interpersonal relationships within the school environment, the promotion of inclusion and active listening, the identification of effective educational intervention approaches, and the strengthening of cooperation between schools, families, and local mental health services.
This first cycle of webinars represents an important step towards building an integrated system of prevention and support, capable of responding promptly and in a coordinated manner to the growing challenges related to youth mental health.
The next phase of the project will focus on the implementation of further actions aimed at consolidating this structured training pathway. It aims to promote the mental well-being of Generation Z youth (aged 17+), acting on multiple levels, including the active involvement of parents, who will take part in the next cycle of webinars scheduled for September.
