On December 5, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the HealthyMinds project was held at the Epirus Palace Hotel (Zeus Hall) in Ioannina.
The HealthyMinds project seeks to establish a network of early diagnosis and intervention mechanisms by integrating technology and innovative services into primary and secondary prevention levels in both countries. In line with the main objective of the project, the opening conference focused on challenges faced by Generation Z youth in their transition to higher education regarding mental health.
Greetings addressed by the Joint Secretariat of the Programme, including the JS Coordinator, the Project Officer and the Communication Officer followed by opening remarks from Lead Beneficiary, Deputy Director of the 6th Health Region and the Regional Governor.
The presentations by the keynote speakers covered topics such as research evidence on young people’s psychosocial needs, characteristics of Generation Z: Difficulties in adapting to education and the labour market, mental health services how and what extent respond to the demand for mental health care, mental health and academic environment, communication difficulties and mental health indicators among Generation Z.
