The Municipality of Nardò hosted the ANEMOS Project Info-Day on October 16 2025, at the Acquaviva d’Aragona Castle, with the participation of the Councillor for Culture Giulia Puglia, Chief of Mayor Cabinet Nicoletta Natalizio, and Head of Strategic Planning and Territorial Development Luigi Siciliano.
During the Info-Day, the project’s objectives, ongoing activities, and techniques for preparing and responding to extreme weather events were presented. The event represented a valuable opportunity for the Nardò area to learn more about topics of great current relevance and strategic importance.
ANEMOS is a territorial cooperation project aimed at strengthening the operational resilience of Adriatic and Ionian ports in the face of increasingly frequent extreme weather events caused by climate change. Through shared strategies and innovative solutions, the project promotes a sustainable approach to port infrastructure management. The international partnership includes, for Greece: the Municipal Fund of Pyrgos, the Port Authority of Corfu, and the Special Account for Research of the University of Athens; and for Italy: the Metropolitan City of Bari, the Municipality of Corigliano-Rossano, and the Municipality of Nardò, which actively participates in the project’s activities.
ANEMOS is part of the Interreg VI-A Greece–Italy 2021–2027 Programme and is co-financed by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and national funds from Greece and Italy, with a total budget of €1,435,500.10.
