The kick-off meeting of the ARCHILIVES project took place in Lecce on September 30th and October 1st, hosted in the venue of Teatro Koreja.
As Lead Beneficiary, Teatro Koreja welcomed its international partners from Greece — the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Agrinio and the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Corfu — along with the Italian partner, Primavera dei Teatri. Together, they engaged in two intensive days of dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and planning, focusing on the technical aspects required to launch the project’s activities and to ensure full compliance with the EU programming framework.
This gathering not only marked the official launch of ARCHILIVES, but also offered a valuable opportunity for partners, both in person and online, to discuss the technical features of a project that aims to digitize theatre archives. The goal is to make them living, shareable, and accessible beyond any physical or intangible boundaries.
Through this international collaboration, ARCHILIVES seeks to preserve the memory and stories of theatres, bringing them into the present and projecting them into the future — ensuring that they do not remain locked away in dusty rooms, but instead continue to inspire communities, nurture cultural identity, and spark creativity across generations.
