Twinning event for intelligent agrifood systems: TAGsTwo and BIOCHAIN together in Metapontum.
On May 14, 2026, the Basilicata Agency for Agricultural Development and Innovation (ALSIA) hosted a cross-border event at the Metapontum Agrobios Research Center.
ALSIA, a partner in the BIOCHAIN project, has long collaborated with CREA – Research Centre for Agriculture and Environment, a partner in TAGsTwo. Building on this established relationship, the two institutions promoted the twinning event to strengthen cooperation between projects that, while involving different partnerships, share a common objective: advancing innovation and supporting more sustainable and intelligent agrifood systems.
Organized within the framework of the TAGsTwo “1st Visit Between Projects,” the initiative brought together researchers, institutions, and stakeholders from Greece and Italy to foster cross-border collaboration in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and technological innovation. The event included a guided tour of the research center led by ALSIA researchers and experts. Afterwards, representatives of the BIOCHAIN consortium and the TAGsTwo partnership discussed future opportunities to deepen collaboration and maximize the long-term sustainability and impact of their respective projects. The meeting highlighted the true value of cooperation: creating lasting synergies capable of generating tangible results, promoting knowledge exchange, and building enduring connections among institutions, people, and territories.
