Almost 50 project communication officers and consultants. On 25 june 2026, the first online meeting of the network of communication officers for the Interreg VI-A Greece–Italy Programme attracted a great deal of interest. The network brings together communication professionals from the Programme and its funded projects to ensure consistent and coordinated communication; share communication tools, guidelines, and best practices; coordinate joint communication campaigns and events; increase the visibility of project results; help communicate the added value of European territorial cooperation to citizens and stakeholders.
Maria Nezeriti (head of the Managing Authority) underlined the value of communication: “It’s much more than an obligation. I appreciate the initiative to establish and organise this Network. I am convinced that it will become a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and strengthening the visibility and impact of our projects”. Gianfranco Gadaleta (Joint Secretariat coordinator): “This initiative is in line with the requirement set out to appoint a professional communication officer for each project. We’re beginning to lay the foundations for capitalising on them. In short, the network strengthens the Programme’s communication by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a common strategic approach”.
After the institutional welcome, the floor was of the participants that briefly introduced themselves and the projects’ they belong to. Then two focuses on storytelling and visuals by Maristella Mantuano (JS communication officer) and on photos and videos by Miriam Semeraro (JS reporter of Interreg Volunteer Youth). The meeting ends with the presentation of the campaign for the call for talents within the project ENERGIE (from the strategy to the development up to the results) by Anna Liberti (project communication officer of the LB ARTI PUGLIA) and Emma Taveri (president of the partner Fondazione Just B). A very good practice which other projects can draw inspiration from as a format to adapt and replicate.
The second meeting of the network will be held at the end of july and focused on plain language and Interreg Cooperation Day.
