Official launch for the Strategic Project BREATH.
Two days (19–20 February 2026) in Athens to enhances cooperation, upgrades early warning systems, develops infrastructures and strengthens resilience in the Ionian–Adriatic area.
The first day included technical sessions on objectives, work packages and timeline. The second day focused on communication, capacity building and volunteerism.
The Kick-off Meeting was organized by the Hellenic Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, as Lead Partner, at the presence of the whole partnership: the Region of Western Greece, the Region of Ionian Islands, the Region of Epirus, Information Society S.A., the Region of Basilicata, the Region of Calabria and the Region of Puglia.
The project aims to strengthen prevention, preparedness and effective management of natural and environmental risks, including floods, wildfires and coastal hazards, through a cross-border framework.
