HERITAGETEX supports the textile sector in a cross-border area where small and specialised companies face strong pressure from global competition. The project promotes sustainable and digital innovation to boost productivity and competitiveness, while preserving the unique textile heritage of the territories involved.
HERITAGETEX connects a complete ecosystem: textile companies and artisans, chambers of commerce, business associations, municipalities, training institutes and policy makers. The project starts with research and mapping of local value chains, traditional production techniques and cultural practices, enriched by workshops, study visits and cultural exchanges.
It then focuses on upgrading skills of economic operators, with training on circular economy approaches and digital tools for the textile industry, alongside activities to support internationalisation through dedicated workshops and B2B events.
Key outputs include a cross-border HERITAGETEX strategy, the creation of a textile industry cluster, a joint marketing strategy for sustainable local textiles and the HERITAGETEX INCUBATOR, a pilot platform that fosters technological exchange, entrepreneurship and new ventures.
Overall, the project aims to strengthen the cross-border innovation ecosystem, accelerate technology transfer, revitalize textile value chains, support job creation and raise awareness of sustainable, locally produced textiles.
