MEDInno II is a cross-border project between Greece and Italy, aiming to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and digital transition of SMEs in the agrifood sector. Aligned with the European Green Deal, the project promotes sustainable economic growth by leveraging the innovation potential of the cross-border region and addressing market challenges.
A key focus of the project is the development and application of advanced technologies to ensure the authenticity and traceability of agrifood products. MEDInno II also establishes regional observatories to monitor export data and support evidence-based policymaking, strengthening the market presence and export capabilities of local products through digital tools.
The project emphasizes digital empowerment by offering platforms and e-learning resources to upgrade the skills of farmers and transhumance stockbreeders, enabling their active participation in the digital economy. This is complemented by living labs and educational trips, encouraging the exchange of best practices and innovation.
Communication and dissemination activities, including seminars and exhibitions, play a vital role in sharing project results and fostering a culture of knowledge exchange. The cross-border approach enhances collaboration, cultural exchange, and shared expertise between GR-IT regions, supporting the development of a more unified and resilient European agrifood industry.
Through MEDInno II, all partners aim to promote cooperative innovation, sustainable growth, and higher quality in the European agrifood sector.
