Project Summary

TAGsTwo’s project ambitions are to stimulate and promote further technological and business innovations in the agricultural and food processing sector, aiming for a more competitive, innovative, and resilient Greece and Italy. Project ideas emerged from the partners' willingness to capitalize on the already achieved outputs and results of the TAGs project, which was implemented under the INTERREG V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020.

Project areas are even more affected by climate change, with reductions in agricultural productivity, biodiversity loss, the intensive use of natural resources with limited water availability, and soil degradation. At the same time, the involved areas still show a low level of interactions between scientific institutions and agri-food SMEs. The main challenge of TAGsTwo is thus to facilitate the continuous transfer of green/digital innovations from research institutions to agri-food SMEs. Starting from the knowledge generated by TAGs, TAGsTwo aims at building on the developed methodologies and technologies to improve their applications by the following outputs:

-TAGsTwo joint Strategy to enhance RΚΑΙI capacities and reinforce the agri-food innovation ecosystem;

-TAGsTwo innovative models as a newly developed solution for precision farming based on integrated innovative business, technological, scientific tools and services, such as: - further TAGs DSS development; - technological and scientific on-site experimentations in the two Greece Italy sites with on-the-spot physical-chemical analysis, innovative drone flights, data collecting by sensors and other ICT and laboratory devices;

-Life Cycle Assessment and Soil Carbon Sequestration studies on olive and orange crops;

-Business and technology services for analyzing the impacts of the TAGsTwo model application on the involved SMEs;

-Enlarged TAGs cross-border Hub (Cross-Hub) for precision farming with new key-actors;

-Exchange visits between projects for knowledge/best practices exchange;

-Workshops and Conferences.
