SAFER project partners met in Athens for the 2nd partnership meeting, bringing together partners from Greece and Italy to move forward on the project’s scientific and technical foundations.
Held on 11 and 12 June, the meeting focused on the development of a cross-border risk cadastre, advanced climate-risk models, and innovative methodologies for vulnerability assessment and early warning. Partners also presented the pilot areas, sharing the first data analysis and modelling activities that will guide the next phases of the project.
A key focus was the SAFER Platform, conceived as the first operational step towards the future SAFER Observatory: a shared space to connect risk knowledge, data and decision-making.
Preparedness starts long before an emergency. It starts with shared knowledge, reliable data and strong cooperation. The Athens meeting marked another step towards safer, better-prepared and more climate-resilient communities across the Greece–Italy area.
