Another success for the 8th and last call of the Programme. Following the event in Ioannina, the Infoday in Taranto on 16 September also proved a great success, attracting over 100 guests both online and in person.
“Today’s event offers an opportunity to forge new relationships and establish new contacts with a view to cooperation with a Country such as Greece, which shares so much history with Italy, and the South in particular” said Paolo Galletta (National Authority – Hosting country).
The information day was hosted by the local health authority (ASL Taranto), whose general manager, Vito Bavaro, delivered the official welcome address: “The splendid venue hosting us today – the former Baraccamenti Cattolica in Taranto – has undergone a radical renovation thanks to the European Union through the POR 2014–2020. The ASL itself is the lead beneficiary of the Mindful project, which was funded by the Greece-Italy Programme. There are many reasons why we feel particularly proud to be hosting such an important event”.
Ettore Cinque (Puglia Region) emphasized “the importance of believing in and investing in cooperation between regions and between institutions. The soft skills funded by the Interreg programmes lead us towards beauty. And that is precisely the direction the Puglia Region is taking”. Giuseppe Rubino (Regione Puglia) underlined the added value brought to the Programme by the new eligible areas: Basilicata and Calabria.
“This eighth and final call opens up the Programme not only to experienced organisations and institutions, but also to prospective beneficiaries who are new to managing European funds. It is last opportunity of this programming time, to secure funding for innovative ideas” clarified Eva Karagianni (Managing Authority).
With total funding across Parts A and B of almost 5 million euros, the 8th and final call for this programming period will fund ‘small call’ projects focused on the following specific objectives: circular and resource-efficient economy, culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation (S.O. 2.6 & 4.6 – Part A) and the institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders, as well as macro-regional, sea-basin and other territorial strategies (ISO 6.1 & 6.4 – Part B).
Launched on 29 July, with a deadline of 9 October, the call was presented going into detail on a wide range of issues: the Programme context & Small-Scale Projects by Nikoletta Tatari (MA), the development of a strong Small Scale Project by Gianfranco Gadaleta (JS), the budgeting and financial requirements by Eva Karagianni (MA), the MIS procedures and electronic submission by Ioanna Kalaitzoglou (MA), the project communication and search of members for partnerships by Maristella Mantuano (JS).
To conclude, ample time was devoted to a question-and-answer session, both in person and remotely, mostly about procedure and submission issues.
