SMART-HUBs held an info day to take stock of its first year of operations, gathering representatives of public authorities, professional associations, businesses, as well as the cultural, creative and tourism sectors, together with the general public.
On 27 May, the Chamber of Aetoloakarnania hosted the event in Messolonghi, at the Decentralized Office of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Greece.
The event opened with welcome speeches by Vasilis Spyropoulos, General Secretary of the Chamber, and Panagiotis Sakellaropoulos, Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Development, who highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation, the CCI and tourism sectors, as well as entrepreneurship, innovation, digital tools and skills development.
Participants received a comprehensive overview of SMART-HUBs from Cecilia Charmpila (RDF-RWG, Lead Partner). This was followed by insights into the Chamber’s role in the project, its added value and its link with the previous project CREATIVE@HUBs. The session also included an overview of the project CHERRY, currently implemented by the Region, highlighting the importance of local and regional initiatives and their synergies.
