A warm and bright day welcomed the Interreg Cooperation Day 2025 in Bari. The more than one hundred children of G. Paolo II – De Marinis Comprehensive School (Don Mario Dalesio Primary School) were the protagonists and enthusiastic hosts of a morning of celebration dedicated to the founding values of territorial cooperation.
They sang the European inm on Interreg’s 35th birthday, greeting the two countries of the Interreg Greece-Italy Programme, promoter of the event, waving flags in the wind of peace.
Amidst balloons, gadgets and music, they built the colourful words INTERREG COOPERATION DAY with small bricks in the themed village set up in the school courtyard.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Vito Lacoppola, Councillor for Education and Knowledge of the Municipality of Bari, Nikoletta Tatari and Gianfranco Gadaleta, respectively representative of the Managing Authority and coordinator of the Joint Secretariat of the Greece-Italy Programme, and the director of Interreg Management Structure of Regione Puglia, Claudio Polignano.
The heartfelt thanks of the Programme goes to the school manager, Amalia Aveni, her deputy, Clementina Candelieri, and the entire team of G. Paolo II – De Marinis Comprehensive School for their collaborative and warm hospitality, tangible proof that excellences and good practices are not exclusive to schools in city centres.
