The ECO-FLOW project has officially launched its technical and experimental activities in Gallipoli (Italy), starting with the development of the Monitoring Plan, which represents the complete project framework for the experimental phase.
This first step is essential to guide the activities towards the expected objectives and to monitor the effects of the chemical and physical parameters of irrigation water on the cultivation substrate, as well as on the growth and development of olive trees – Favolosa and Lecciana Cultivar.
The project focuses on the reuse of reclaimed wastewater for agricultural irrigation, promoting more sustainable and resilient water management practices in Mediterranean areas affected by water scarcity.
Through the Monitoring Plan, ECO-FLOW will generate evidence-based knowledge to support safer water reuse systems, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection and a more efficient use of natural resources.
