The subsidy contracts signing phase, by the Alternate Minister of ”Economy and Finance” of Greece, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis, has ended.
The successful implementation of 37 cross-border cooperation projects, cofunded by the EU under the “Interreg VI-A Greece-Italy 2021-2027” Programme and managed by the Managing Authority Interreg 2021-2027, is now underway.
With a budget of €53 million, the projects are underway to boost innovation, support sustainable development, enhance human resources, promote culture and tourism, improve quality of life and enable knowledge exchange, delivering also tailored actions for young people.
Specifically, 156 beneficiaries (66 from Greece and 90 from Italy) from the Regions of Western Greece, Epirus and Ionian Islands, as regards Greece, as well as the Regions of Puglia, Calabria and Basilicata, as regards Italy, participate in the projects in the areas of:
- Smart and inclusive development in the cross-border region
- Green transition and sustainability with a local and cross-border footprint
- Cultural connection and social cohesion between Greece and Italy
