Few weeks after the official launch, NESTS project already present the first video with emotional and impactful images of of the natural landscapes and sites involved in the initiative.
Aligned with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030 and the Habitats and Species Directives, NESTS provides a coordinated response to the challenges of preserving and restoring biodiversity in cross-border areas. The project focuses on strengthening the cooperative management of Natura 2000 sites through training programmes, networking initiatives and the creation of a Permanent Biodiversity Observatory.
By improving collaboration between institutions and enhancing the capacities of local authorities – often limited by resources and technical expertise – NESTS aims to establish a more unified and effective model of biodiversity governance between Greece and Italy.
