As part of the BREATH strategic project, Civil Protection young volunteers from across Apulia gathered in Bari on 14 June for the 2026 Plenary Assembly of the Regional Youth Volunteers Forum.
Organised by the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management of Puglia Region, this event involved regional, national, and European institutions.
Discussions focused on prevention, preparedness, and the management of natural and environmental hazards across the Ionian-Adriatic area. Six working groups addressed training, awareness, active citizenship, skills, climate resilience, innovation, new technologies, and youth participation. Their proposals will support future Forum activities and BREATH capacity-building actions.
The Joint Secretariat was represented by the coordinator, Gianfranco Gadaleta, the project officer, Tina Ranieri, and the communication officer, Maristella Mantuano.
The Assembly reaffirmed the crucial role of young volunteers in strengthening community resilience, cross-border cooperation, and a shared culture of safety, sustainability, and solidarity.
